Terminal B was first completed in 2004, but was taken out of service in 2008 due to a lack of passengers and inadequate infrastructure. At the beginning of 2016, the decision was taken to reopen Terminal B due to the sharp rise in passenger numbers in recent years. Drees & Sommer was commissioned to undertake project management on the premise that the terminal would reopen in summer 2017. In addition to rebuilding the missing link, Terminal B was also upgraded to the latest state of the art. The tight schedule meant that planning had to be carried out in parallel with construction. In particular, the detailed schedule continuously updated by Drees & Sommer was crucial to success. In addition to project management, Drees & Sommer was also commissioned to undertake higher-level site management to identify and rectify problems on site.
