BVK has completed the idyllic rear courtyard living environment between Waltersbachstrasse, Beckenhofstrasse and Schaffhauserstrasse in Zurich’s District 6 with the construction of a residential and commercial building at Waltersbachstrasse 4. The building volume of just under 7,000 m3 offers space for twelve 2.5-room apartments and extensive commercial space on the ground and lower ground floors. The areas combine urban spaces, interesting designs, and construction to the Minergie standard to create a high-quality feel-good oasis. In particular, the duplex apartments on the top two floors offer exceptional quality of space through their additional height and a light-flooded, open-plan design. The differentiated, volumetric roof design and the French balconies with striking zig-zag metal rod railings lend the building an urban character without sacrificing its homely look.
