Professional management for the Schloessle Gallery in Pforzheim

Not only the coordination of requirements of the ca. 45 tenants rendered the shopping centre a special project. In the past months, the insolvency of the general contractor Walter Bau AG posed further challenged Drees & Sommer project managers Ralph Scheer and Stefan Kopp, who strove to ensure a punctual opening of the Schloessle Gallery.

In 2001 already, the constructor, AM Development Germany GmbH, commissioned Drees & Sommer Stuttgart to support the project with project management in terms of planning and execution. The first spadeful of earth was turned on 14th November 2002. The project managers' central task was to effect comprehensive controlling of costs, deadlines and quality demands.

In January 2005, after completing structural works, façade and the parking level on top, Drees & Sommer were able to deliver the ca. 45 lease units in the 45.000 square metre-building to its tenants, and, since, has coordinated finishes.

The insolvency of the general contractor Walter Bau AG was a dramatic event occurring during construction. In order to avoid delays in completion, Drees & Sommer, together with the constructor representative Jörn Kreuzahler, rapidly commissioned executing companies. The cooperative collaboration between Drees & Sommer and the constructor formed the basis for the project's success. For the project managers, the insolvency meant to have to coordinate another 50 companies. Thanks to the cooperation with Gassmann + Gassmann, who assumed construction management, technical and quality management as well as the good communication and cooperation between all involved in construction, the project could still be opened according to schedule.
 
Trendsetting management methods and the experience of the Drees & Sommer project managers enabled completion of the works according to constructor targets. The Schloessle Gallery will thus open its gates on 17th March.
