On January 19, 2006, the University of Stuttgart's Institute of Construction Management and Stiftung Immobilie (Real-Estate Foundation) - to which numerous renowned real-estate industry players belong - awarded the 3rd Stuttgart Real-Estate Prize.
The keynote address for the award was held by Jens Friedemann, editor-in-chief of the Real-Estate section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. This year's award-winner is Christian Albrings for his dissertation titled "Comparison of costing methods for office buildings in early project phases". The paper examines the accuracy of costing methods and the effort involved in using them in early project phases. An optimal costing method is achieved by taking the expected accuracy of the individual procedures into account. Albrings has been an employee of Drees & Sommer Stuttgart since January 2005 and is very pleased about the recognition for his work, "Through my work as project manager I can contribute the knowledge gained to the company by applying my theory to projects."
