On January 17, 2008, Stuttgart University's Stiftung Immobilie (Real-Estate Foundation) conferred the 5th Real-Estate Award. It was won by Heike Dambacher, a Drees & Sommer project manager.
The keynote address was given by Dr. Matthias Danne, member of the Management Board of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale (German Giro Center). This year, the award went to Heike Dambacher for her dissertation entitled "Risk analysis in the calculation of PPP projects, demonstrated using the example of energy costs". The dissertation examines the PPP (Public Private Partnership) procurement model. Here, calculation of costs alone is often not sufficient. Rather, comprehensive risk analysis has to take place in parallel. The dissertation uses risk management for energy costs as an example of the numerous risks tha can occur in a PPP. Heike Dambacher developed a model for rising market prices which meets these requirements in practice. Ms Dambacher has been a Drees & Sommer employee since August 1, 2007. "I am really pleased about the award. It shows that the findings are of practical value," said the award-winner.
