Sweeping Musical Program and 15,000 Euros for the Stuttgart Young Opera

23.06.2008

Themed "In 80 Days around the World," Drees & Sommer invited to the 14th traditional Summer Night of Music and Cuisine on June 22nd, 2008. Approximately 250 guests from politics, economy and culture allowed themselves to be whisked away on a musical journey in midsummer temperatures by the multi-facetted program of the Stuttgart Young Opera.

Together with his team, Albrecht Puhlmann, director of the state opera, presented a musical journey around the world. To exemplify, the diverse program contained "I Never had a Chance" by Irving Berlin, the "Turkish March" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and a Japanese folk song. Afterwards, Professor Dr. Hans Sommer, chairman of the Drees & Sommer AG supervisory board, thanked the team for its first class performance. Like last year, Prof. Dr. Friedrich Hensler (Director of Drees & Sommer Stuttgart GmbH), Dr. Jürgen Laukemper (Director of Drees & Sommer Infra Consult und Entwicklungsmanagement GmbH) and Peter Tzeschlock (Director of Drees & Sommer Advanced Building Technologies GmbH), presented Albrecht Puhlmann with a check for 15,000 euros. In addition the Young Opera received a case containing fan articles from Prof. Dr. Friedrich Hensler - and the promise of an additional donation of 1,000 euros for every goal that the German national team scores in the regular playing time during the rest of the European Championship. Puhlmann gave thanks for the donation, which will be used for the project "Opera in the Classroom" among other things, in order to introduce pupils to opera. The summer night finished with good conversation and interesting encounters.
