Ground-breaking ceremony for new B. Braun Avitum AG buildings in Glandorf

On June 10, 2011 construction of the new buildings for B. Braun Avitum AG in Glandorf commenced with the ground-breaking ceremony. A facility for the production of dialysis solutions and a fully automatic high-bay warehouse will be built at the site between Münster and Osnabrück by the beginning of 2013. The group has commissioned Drees & Sommer to undertake project management for the two buildings to ensure that the project is completed within budget and commissioned on schedule.

B. Braun manufactures medicines and medical products for dialysis at its Glandorf facility. In addition to production, the site is also a logistics and distribution center for the B. Braun Avitum division. B. Braun is undertaking the project both to meet growing demand and to further expand its Glandorf facility, where the company has operated since 1996 and currently has 430 employees. The dialysis solution plant now under construction will manufacture a newly developed dialysis product using state-of-the-art production systems.

Drees & Sommer has been providing B. Braun Avitum AG project management services for the construction of the company's new buildings in Glandorf since October 2010. Here, too, the experts are responsible for ensuring that the project is completed within budget and to the tight schedule: The new production building is to be opened after a construction period of some 20 months. The groundbreaking ceremony for the automatic high-bay warehouse is planned for spring 2012.
