Specialist seminar: Security and high availability of server parks

23.07.2010

Efficient business processes depend to a large degree on the availability and security of computer centers, IT rooms and server parks. Experts from the IT and construction industries will meet on September 23 and 24, 2010 at the Simedia specialist seminar in the Hotel Victoria, Basle to develop economic solutions to complex buildings of this type.

The basic principle behind this specialist seminar is the interdisciplinary approach: The twin goals of Security and Maximum Availability are so complex that a successful solution can only be achieved through interdisciplinary cooperation on the part of experts. For this reason, the event will be attended both by representatives of the real estate industry and by IT security experts. For example, Josef Linder, Project Partner at Drees & Sommer, will present a paper on how a computer center is planned and implemented from the principal's point of view. Rainer A. H. von zur Mühlen, partner of Von zur Mühlen'sche GmbH, will focus on the importance of security technology and the specification for computer center planning. Other key areas covered in the seminar are how Green IT can be implemented architecturally and how anticipatory risk management can be practically implemented throughout the entire life cycle of the building. The seminar not only covers new buildings, but also remodeling of legacy buildings to allow improvements to server room infrastructure.
