Description
Functional new headquarters -Vereinigte Hannoversche Versicherung a.G. (VHV) is planning to build a new group headquarters by 2009. It comprises an ensemble of three buildings joined by a common atrium.
Virtual test stand - The climate control concept - developed in interdisciplinary cooperation - meets the client's special requirements. The computer simulation acted as a virtual test rig on which various different designs could be evaluated. This resulted in an ecologically optimized building with the highest level of thermal comfort. Triple thermal glazing and external solar protection ensure low energy requirement. Geothermal - combined with thermoactive building components - heat and cool the building. Peak loads are compensated by district heating and cooling plants.
Economy - Despite the higher initial investment, the concept results in value-add for VHV, as according to calculations made by the Drees & Sommer DS-Plan Expert Team, the costs will be amortized in less than ten years.
