Know-how exchange -Drees & Sommer's goal was to support architects Herzog & Partner by providing holistic know-how with regard to energy management.

Excellent teamwork - Completed in 2004, the ZVK building is regarded as an outstanding example of sustainable energy-conscious construction. It was the first office building in Germany to be equipped with building component activation which guarantees an effective basic temperature in winter and summer. The architects Herzog & Partner and the team of Drees & Sommer engineers involved in the project were awarded the 2006 Architecture and Technology Award for the unique architecture and the innovative technology concept. The prize is awarded to commercial buildings whose appearance and building services equipment form an economical and resource-friendly symbiosis.
