Prominent location - The new Spiegel publishing house buildings are taking shape on the Ericusspitze, a high-profile location in HafenCity. The two buildings will offer a total of some 50,000 square meters of office space.
Geothermal - The building has a fully newly developed indoor climate and facade concept with triple glazing, facade profiles with high heat insulation, and thermoactive ceilings with heating and cooling sails that also enhance acoustics. With this concept, a primary energy demand for air conditioning of 100 kwh/m²a is achieved. The building is heated and cooled via drilled piles and geothermal energy.
Ecological and efficient - The Drees & Sommer Advanced Building Technologies expert team developed a future-oriented air-conditioning and energy concept with efficient facade technology that meets the principal's ecological and esthetic demands, while at the same time lastingly enhancing the economy of the building. The building will be certified with the Hafen City Gold Label.
