Description
New company headquarters - Getrag has relocated its company headquarters, adding 650 workplaces in the area of research and development. The comb-shaped building has a connecting hall of solid construction and an integrated kindergarten. The second structure for the workshop area is of combined solid / steel construction.
Difficult terrain - The swampy site required a pile foundation. The office building is integrated into an extensive lake landscape with an area of 4,100 m². Highest priority was given to the equality of all workplaces in offices and workshops. The project is characterized by the use of a limited number of carefully matched materials, including fair-faced concrete.
Change and cost controlling - Key elements for Getrag were economy, cost stability and quality, as well as punctual completion for occupation in December 2001. The customer was particularly pleased because Drees & Sommer managed to complete below budget despite extensive changes (9.7 % of volume).
