Drees & Sommer growth continues unabated
Clearly, the company's organizational structure is unsuitable. What is not clear is how to control the growth in the number of employees and what means to use to increase efficiency. Drees & Sommer decides to implement the Project Partner system. All Project Partners - with their respective projects - now report directly to the general managers. This eliminates hierarchical levels, instead relying on the self-regulating powers of the so-called amoeba structure: Small flexible units work according to a fixed basic principle anchored in the corporate philosophy.
As a logical consequence, the Drees & Sommer Aktiengesellschaft (stock corporation) is founded, assuming the shares of the former GbR (partnership under the German civil code) partners. The General Managers of the regional companies also become shareholders. Drees & Sommer AG ensures a common mindset and approach that can be implemented regionally according to prevailing conditions.
This period of growth also sees the start of systematic public relations at Drees & Sommer. 1995 sees the first Summer Night of Music and Cuisine in cooperation with the Stuttgart Opera.
