The Drees & Sommer team is primarily focused on providing technical consulting and effective project management to ensure that clients' complex urban development and infrastructure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Turkish State Railways (TCDD) commissioned Drees & Sommer Turkey and the Drees & Sommer Development Management expert team with management both of the international architectural competition for the Haydarpasa site project in Istanbul and of discussions with investors. The plan sees the removal of railway infrastructure and relocation of the container port. A 100-hectare site is to be developed into an upscale quarter of the Turkish city.
In the initial phase, the project managers are preparing a preliminary assessment and an international urban-planning competition. By 2012, development and construction will be completed with an investment volume of $ 5 billion.
At the beginning of July, Calik Holding Bank- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft (holding) and its development subsidiary GAP Insaat commissioned Drees & Sommer with the renewal and development of the district of Istanbul Beyoglu Tarlabasi. Taking urban-planning and historical considerations into account 4.9-hectare site with 480 buildings will be replanned in conjunction with the city council and built by Calik as investor. Drees & Sommer has been awarded the development and project management contract for this important urban renewal and development project.
