21.08.2007
Master planning for the new leisure center near Kassel in North Hessen was completed in mid August.
In May 2007, Drees & Sommer Infra Consult and Development Management was commissioned to draw up a land-use plan and business plan for the development of a resort on a 1000-hectare site near Hofgeismar. The project calls for an extensive leisure center to be developed on the site of the former Schloss Beberbeck state stud farm. Plans include hotels, several golf courses and leisure facilities for sports, riding and wellness, as well as a large number of holiday homes in villages and apartments. A market place with a market hall will form the center of the resort. A Robinson Island and lakeside villas are to be incorporated into the special landscape. Investment in the leisure project totals some EUR 400 million. The first guests are scheduled to arrive in 2011. Roland Koch, State Premier of Hessen, has already personally presented the contract of sale between the state of Hessen and the holding company.
