Drees & Sommer is supporting the construction of the state-of-the-art Fein Competence Center in Schwäbisch Gmünd by providing comprehensive project management services.
In order to create synergy effects, Fein is centralizing its former plants in Stuttgart, Schwäbisch Gmünd and Sonnenbühl at one location. This has resulted in the construction of a state-of-the-art competence center in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which accommodates the company's development, administrative and sales & distribution functions. Within a very short time, Drees & Sommer collaborated closely with Fein to put together a powerful team using a general planner selection process. The planning of buildings services equipment was pioneering, with Drees & Sommer writing a holistic energy report. Systematic cost control throughout execution ensured that project was completed within the budget of EUR 10.6 million at the planned levels of quality. Operations in the new facilities started on schedule in June 2007.
