Construction of King Fahad National Library starts in Riyadh

The EUR 65 million project is characterized by unusual energy-saving technologies.

Construction of the King Fahad National Library has started in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Drees & Sommer DS-Plan expert team provided building services equipment and energy concept consulting services for this project. The result: Energy-saving technologies such as building component activation and layered ventilation make the library a showpiece thanks to the use of concepts that have never previously been used in the region. The 80,000 square meter building is being built by Gerber Architekten International for the the Arriyadh Development Authority, Saudi Arabia.
