Stihl chain factory CH2 completed

29.09.2008

July 2008 saw the completion of the new production building for chain manufacturer Stihl & Co - a subsidiary of chain-saw manufacturer Stihl - in Bronschhofen, Switzerland after a construction period of only 12 months.

The new factory CH2 offers some 22,400 square meters of new floor area for the production of saw chains. The new building is two kilometers from factory CH1 in Wil, which was extended in 2005 with Drees & Sommer undertaking project management. When it came to the construction of the new saw chain factory, Stihl once again entrusted the project to the tried and trusted team comprising Drees & Sommer, Swiss architects and German specialist planners. Through professional project management, the Drees & Sommer experts ensured adherence to schedule, budget and quality levels in Bronschhofen. Production machines are currently being installed. The official opening is to be celebrated in autumn 2008 with the plant in full operation.
