On September 16, 2008 the City of Ludwigsburg and some 200 guests celebrated completion of the building shell for the new sports and cultural arena.
The EUR 50 million project has been realized as a Public-Private Partnership between the City of Ludwigsburg and BAM Deutschland AG. Drees & Sommer undertook execution of the entire Public-Private Partnership process.
In addition to the multipurpose hall, business premises and a hotel with some 130 rooms will be built on the former Ludwigsburg Nestlé site. The new arena will be home to EnBW Ludwigsburg, the premier league basketball team. The multipurpose hall - with an audience capacity of 7,100 - is also be used for cultural events. The building is scheduled for completion in September 2009.
Currently Drees & Sommer is providing construction controlling as well as acceptance inspection & handover management during the construction phase.
