Successful realization of infrastructure measures of the Allianz Arena

10.05.2005

After a planning and construction phase of three years, the regional capital Munich delivered the traffic facilities around the Allianz Arena to the public.
Measures of infrastructure attended to by Drees & Sommer and DS-Infra included the development of roads, the underground stations Fröttmaning and Marienplatz, strengthening the underground line U3/U6 as well as a traffic management system. Parts of the motorway scheme were already released for traffic. On 30 May 2005, football fans will enjoy the opening game at the Allianz Arena. The season 2005/2006 of the German Football League will already take place in the new stadium before the Football World Championships start in 2006. By this time, the underground station Marienplatz will be reconstructed. Drees & Sommer Munich not only adhered to tight deadlines but also saved costs of seven million Euro. Alexander Reissl, SPD deputy and spokesman for constructional issues said: "As regards the infrastructure of the stadium Allianz Arena, the project management of Drees & Sommer initiated by the construction department provided compact organisation, fast decisions and brief process times. The project work proved of the best value, in particular as regards the collaboration with external partners and executing firms."
