New Canadian Embassy in Berlin inaugurated
10.05.2005
Three years after the outset of construction, numerous invited guests celebrated the opening of the Canadian Embassy in Berlin in late April 2005.
At Leipziger Platz, a modern, open building was developed, offering space not only to the Canadian Embassy, but also shop areas, offices and apartments. Drees & Sommer were assigned with project management and made sure of adherence to costs and deadlines. From planning and execution of construction measures to initial operation, the Berlin team lent the constructor, Kanada Haus KG a helping hand. The contractor's satisfaction is mirrored in the certificates for "exemplary services" presented by the Deputy Canadian Foreign Secretary. The 45 million Euro project met with approval with the guests. Klaus Wowereit, Berlin Mayor, particularly praised the Canadian Embassy open to the public.
