In April 2005 - one year after the first delve of the spade - the motor saw manufacturer Andreas Stihl AG & Co. KG celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the extension of its chain factory in Wil, Switzerland.
After the successful co-operation concerning the new construction of the Stihl development centre in Waiblingen-Neustadt, Drees & Sommer Stuttgart received the contract to manage the 16.9 million Euro project. So far, construction has been realised in precise keeping to targets in terms of costs and deadlines. Under consideration of local subcontractors, the consortium Züblin, Schellenbaum, Imtech, Schetter effects building construction. The hall extension is scheduled to be completed at the end of May 2005. After relocating the assembling groups in autumn, the location Wil will dispose of more than 11.100 square metres of additional production space.
