Opening of the InterContinental Hotel in Berchtesgaden

The modern luxury hotel on top of the mountain Obersalzberg features 138 rooms, spa area, conference facilities and gastronomic units and is fitted into the landscape of the mountain massif Hoher Göll. The design of the building is by Kochta Architekture Munich. Dress & Sommer Munich assumed all-comprehensive project management of construction and, for the contractor, Gewerbegrund Bauträger GmbH in Munich, ensured adherence to costs and deadlines. The active attendance of Drees & Sommer resulted in a reduction of scheduled costs for construction from 67 million Euro to 52 million Euro. Drees & Sommer will be advising contractor as well as hotel management until the end of 2005.
