29.01.2009

The 19th IIR Annual Real Estate Management Opening Congress - CIMMIT - will be held in Frankfurt on February 2 and 3, 2009.

At a session entitled 'Optimism or Pessimism - what will 2009 bring?', high-caliber decision-makers from the real estate and finance industries will talk about the future of the German property industry. Panelists include Prof. Dr. Hans Sommer (Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Drees & Sommer AG) and Dr. Andreas Blaschkowski (Executive Board spokesperson, Drees & Sommer AG).

Prof. Dr. Hans Sommer will discuss property companies' international strategies with Coy-Soon Cua (Managing Director, SEB Investment GmbH), Hendrik Gienow (Managing Director and Regional Head, Corporate & Investment Banking Asia-Pacific, Eurohypo AG), Thomas Gütle (Managing Director, Cordea Savills), and Buddy Roes (Managing Director, ING Real Estate Investment Management Germany GmbH). The panel of experts will examine what strategies other companies have adopted abroad, how they learned the ground rules, and what lessons they learned the hard way.

The focus of the subsequent discussion will be on new project development trends. Here, too, the focus is on internationalization. Dr. Andreas Blaschkowski will discuss changes in the market and what partnerships and business models are gaining in popularity with Ulrich Höller (Chairman of the Management Board, DIC Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co. KGaA), Klaus Laminet (Managing Director, Investa), Philipp Schmitz-Morkramer (Member of the Management Board, Quantum Immobilien AG), Götz. U. Hufenbach (Member of the Management Board, Wayss & Freytag AG). The panelists will also discuss where German project developers are engaged abroad.
