Drees & Sommer Development Management for the Traditional Villa Area Bao Yang in Shanghai

09.02.2005

On authority of the partly state-run real estate holding C.R.E.D. the Drees & Sommer Development Management GmbH develops the area "Bao Yang" with sixty historical villas from British colonial times.
The area of a size of approximately six hectares located in the central district Hongkou of Shanghai is to be converted into a high-quality villa park with European standard, in which foreign families live. In a first working stage the development managers verified the economic efficiency of the project and inform potential European customers on the basis of an urban construction planning about the new development. At the same time they recorded the requirements and wishes of the potential customers as foundation for the further development.

In the next stage Drees & Sommer presents the project "Bao Yang" to the specialist audience on the real estate exhibition MIPIM 2005 in Cannes in order to integrate financing and investment partners as early as possible. A delegation of eight state representatives will take up first negotiations with potential partners at an own exhibition stand.

The development managers estimate the investment volume at approximately 100 million Euro. The city of Shanghai and the district Hongkou try to achieve a completion of "Bao Yang" until the world exhibition EXPO 2010.
