Topping out ceremony for the SAP Arena Mannheim
01.10.2004
The topping out ceremony was held for the new multi-functional hall in Bösfeld, Mannheim on September 17, 2004.
Around 800 guests from local politics, trade, economics and administration had been invited. The new stadium for the Mannheim Adler (ice hockey team) will in future be able to accommodate 15,000 spectators. The 100 million Euros building - one of the most up-to-date multi-functional arenas - will also be used for other type of sports and large events (concerts, shareholder meetings). This type of project requires comprehensive project management and construction engineering advice. Drees & Sommer Stuttgart have been commissioned with this work by the Arena Mannheim Besitzgesellschaft mbh & Co KG & Dietmar Hopp Stiftung GmbH since the beginning of the project in 2002. The project managers guarantee that deadlines, costs and quality will be consistently met until the planned completion in September, 2005. As a partner company, DS-Plan is responsible for the technical-economic controlling and thus ensures the optimum technical and commercial equipment for the building.
