Ground-breaking ceremonies were held in mid-June 2009 in Kayseri, Turkey, to launch construction of the largest shopping centre in central Anatolia.
Prior to commencement of construction, Drees & Sommer carried out a technical due diligence for the German investor in the project, Union Investment Real Estate AG. This modern shopping and leisure complex will house a cash and carry wholesale store, a cinema centre and retail shops, along with cafés and restaurants. Some 2,000 parking spaces will be provided for customers. A hotel and a residential building will be built an addition to the shopping centre. Project managers at Drees & Sommer are monitoring the project throughout the entire planning and construction phase. The Forum Kayseri is set to open its doors at the end of 2011.
