New Opening of the Frankfurt Innovation Centre for Biotechnology (FIZ)

With the new innovation centre for biotechnology Frankfurt am Main wants to become the leading location in the biotechnology.

For this reason, the operating company FIZ GmbH as well as the partners - the land Hesse, the city of Frankfurt and the IHK Frankfurt were particularly glad that 70 percent of the total rental area of 6600 square metres are already rented out for the opening on 7 July, 2004. Other reasons for delight were the transfer of the FIZ on 31 March, 2004 on schedule and the observing of the planned budget. Drees & Sommer Frankfurt supported the project from the beginning and thus contributed to its success. Starting with the implementation of a Europe-wide one-stage investor competition Drees & Sommer took over the project controlling and the tenant management for the operator in addition to the investor selection. DS-Plan additionally supported the project course with technical-economic controlling and decisively cooperated in the selection of the service providers, who have been operating the FIZ since handing over. In the second construction stage of the FIZ further five buildings are planned, which will be built as soon as the operating company has bound sufficient tenants by contract. There is a good chance that the construction can be started at the end of the year.
