Together with Chinese partner SBA International (SBA), Drees & Sommer has won competition awards for land-use concepts for the coastal region around Zhuhai.
We won third prize for our concept for the entire site, and first prize for one of the focus areas of the coastal region. The 55-kilometer coastal strip around the city of Zhuhai - which lies west of Hong Kong - is known in China as Zhuhai Lover's Road.
The land-use concept developed by
Drees & Sommer and SBA provides for the coastal strip to be divided into different sections, each with a different theme such as culture, romance, or hi-tech.
The highlight of the concept is the development of the moon-shaped Moon Island, on which office and residential units will be developed, as well as retail outlets, entertainment and hotels.
Core activities for Drees & Sommer in addition to a detailed site and market analysis are the definition of target groups, research of Best Practice examples, and supporting SBA in the development of the land-use concept.
