The Austria House in Vancouver awarded DGNB pre-certificate

15.02.2010

Just in time for the start of the Winter Olympics, Austria House in Vancouver has received a DNGB silver pre-certificate.

On 29 January 2010, the house was the first building to be awarded with a DGNB pre-certificate from the Austrian Association for a Sustainable Real Estate Industry (ÖGNI). In collaboration with the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, Drees & Sommer undertook the certification process.
A crucial point for the certification included saving 4,000 kWh per year in comparison with currently used air conditioning units.

Austria House is hosting the Östereichischen Rundfunk (ORF - Austrian Broadcasting) studio during the Winter Olympics.
