Rhein-Neckar Health Center in Ludwigshafen opts for geothermal

01.03.2010

The new health center has achieved an energy saving 40 percent below the level required by the Energy Conservation Ordinance (EnEV) 2007.

Early 2010 saw the topping-out ceremony for the building, for which Drees & Sommer acted as project manager. The experts were also responsible for system planning, building systems equipment planning, and general building planning.

27 earth probes provide heating and cooling for the buidling. Other technologies such as concrete core temperature control, reduced air-conditioning plant and high-insulation windows contributed to the building achieving an energy saving 40 percent below EnEV 2007 specifications.
