New construction of the National Library of King Fahad

Ried. - In Saudi Arabia currently the complete new organisation of the National Library of King Fahad is planned with 55,000 square meters.

The design of Gerber Architects provides the wrapping of the existing library by means of a glass cube with an edge length of 90 meters. At the local climate condition with exterior temperatures of more than 50 degrees Celsius intelligent room climate concepts are necessary, like the ones the DS-Plan develops. In addition to the construction climate inspections the DS-Plan is commissioned with the planning performances for the complete technical building equipment at the project "King Fahad Library". The completion is planned for the end of 2006.
