Laying of the Foundation Stone at the Leibniz Computer Centre
07.04.2004
On March 26, 2004 the laying of the foundation for the new Leibniz Computer Centre (LRZ) took place on the campus of the Technical University Munich.
The client of the 42 million Euro project is the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, which is represented by the building control department of the Technical University Munich. The planned complex of the LRZ is composed of three different buildings: a four-storey institute building, a building for lecture halls and seminar rooms as well as a prominent, cube-shaped computer building. The construction measures for the project with 13,608 square meters of gross storey area have already begun. In this, Drees & Sommer supports the building control department of the Technical University Munich at the schedule control and takes over the representation of the client until the expected completion of the LRZ new building at the end of 2005. To safeguard good acoustics and a comprehensive heat insulation for the Leibniz Computer Centre the Bavarian Academy of Sciences has involved DS-Plan as professional consulter.
