Drees & Sommer in China: Project Management in the Middle Kingdom

With the target to offer the services of Drees & Sommer on the world largest economic growth market, the new company DSD Shanghai Ltd. has taken up its activity in China since the middle of 2003.

Stockholders are Drees & Sommer International and the local partner Prof. Shinzhao Ding with his firm SIPM. Drees & Sommer International, managed by Dr. Ralf Händl, is the responsible company for the structuring and coordination of all international activities of the Drees & Sommer-Group. DSD Shanghai Ltd. and SIPM have branches in Shanghai, Beijing, Jinan, Harbin and Wuhan. During the past 14 years a number of complex projects has already been realized by the SIPM. Together with SIPM DSD Shanghai Ltd. offers an extensive range of performances with individual solutions for international and local customers in the area of project implementation and control.
Hans-Peter Holler is the managing director for the new location Shanghai. Since 1974 he has been managing complex construction projects for Drees & Sommer and worked from 1995 to 1999 as overall project leader of the DaimlerChrysler project Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
DSD Shanghai Ltd currently is responsible for the following projects in China: the German Center with a seven-floor office complex in Shanghai, in which German companies will settle. The completion is planned for July 2004. At the construction project of the chemical factory Wanhua Chemics in Ningbo the internet-based project communication management (PKM) is used, which is already successfully used in other construction projects.
