Drees & Sommer has been managing construction since 2007.
The Carnuntum Archeological Park Visitor Center was opened in mid April with a multimedia exhibition under the motto "Conquer - Discover - Experience Roman Carnuntum". The Roman thermal baths and restaurant area were also opened at the same time. 1,200 guests attended the ceremony, which also marked the start of the Exhibition of Lower Austrian.
In 2007, Drees & Sommer undertook project management for the Carnuntum Archaeological Park construction projects in cooperation with ZT Hilei & Jirek. Special challenges were construction in the archeological excavation site and the division of work into multiple subprojects. Excellent cooperation between all project participants allowed work to be completed on schedule and within the budget of EUR 26 million.
