Inter-state project starts.
On July 13, 2010 the foundation stone for the new multipurpose hall for the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm was laid in the presence of mayors Ivo Gönner and Gerod Noerenberg and the companies involved. The official name of the hall - Ratiopharm Arena - was also announced at the ceremony.
The hall is being realized as a joint project between Max Bögl Bauservice GmbH und Co. KG, the Baden-Württemberg city of Ulm and the Bavarian city of Neu-Ulm.
Drees & Sommer developed the project idea for the building with the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm and managed the invitation to tender and negotiation process.
In addition, Drees & Sommer is undertaking project control during the construction phase together with nps Bauprojektmanagement GmbH (construction project management). The EUR 27.6 million project is scheduled for completion in December 2011.
