The planned Innovation Centre in Aalen will receive a subsidy from the EU.
A total of nine winners of EU 'lighthouse' projects (EULE) were announced at the Zukunft Kommune (The Future of Local Government) trade fair in Stuttgart. Each project is receiving a subsidy of approx. EUR 2.7 million.
The award of a subsidy for the Innovation Center in Aalen was the result of intensive preparation. Drees & Sommer Infra Consult and Development Management has supported the joint project of the City of Aalen and Aalen University over the last ten months. The experts were primarily responsible for implementation of ideas, ensuring successful completion of all tasks and timely lodging of the submission. The new goal is to complete the EUR 5 million project by 2014.
Rudolf Köberle, the Baden-Württemberg Minister for Rural Affairs, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, announced the winners and visited the Drees & Sommer booth at the expo with Jutta Heim-Wenzler, Mayoress of Aalen.
