Plant expansion: Drees & Sommer is responsible for project control and Green Building certification.
Qiagen, global provider of sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, is expanding its Hilden plant. The topping-out ceremony for the current phase of the project was held on June 8, 2010.
Despite the harsh winter, the building shell was completed rapidly thanks to effective countermeasures. Drees & Sommer is controlling costs, schedule and quality and managing LEED Green Building certification for the project.
The next phase of the project - with its tight deadline and extensive laboratory technology - will continue to present big challenges to all involved in the project.
