Drees & Sommer provided project control services for the new facility
Following the start of construction after the official groundbreaking ceremony in May 2010, the topping-out ceremony for new multipurpose hall for the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm was celebrated on February 25, 2011. The Lord Mayors of Ulm and Neu-Ulm - Ivo Gönner and Gerold Noerenberg - were present at the ceremony.
Drees & Sommer worked with the Ulm and Neu-Ulm city councils to develop the project idea for the facility and managed the invitation to tender and subsequent negotiations for the Public Private Partnership project. The Ulm and Neu-Ulm city councils commissioned the Max Bögl Group as their partner for planning, construction and operation of the arena for a period of at least 20 years.
Together with nps Bauprojektmanagement GmbH, Drees & Sommer is undertaking project control during the execution phase.
The EUR 27.6 million project is scheduled to be completed in December 2011.
