The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) has published a book entitled "Sustainable building - Future-oriented concepts for planners and decision-makers" a compendium of current discussions around the topic of sustainable building.
Numerous aspects are thoroughly analyzed in the book. These include, for example, how an ecological approach can result in economic benefits, what government can contribute, and whether smart, climate-conscious planning allows sustainability to be achieved with minimum technology.
In the chapter "Holistic Planning, Consulting and Construction", Drees & Sommer Managing Directors Prof. Dr. Michael Bauer and Dr. Peter Mösle examine how sustainable buildings can be planned and built to ensure that they remain economical throughout the property lifecycle. The experts also compare and contrast the various international Green Building labels.
