Case Study: Fast-track Production Relocation in China
The Shenzen (China) subsidiary of Germany based In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) manufacturer QIAGEN relocated their production facility of 10,000 m² GFA due to the re-development of the entire city quarter. The project team consisting of the local QIAGEN production staff, together with the external Project Managers of Drees & Sommer located both in Germany and China succeeded to coordinate and handle all the parallel work streams of the fast track project.

German Sustainable Building Award: RAG Foundation New Build Awarded Special Prize for Sustainability and Innovation
With the German Sustainable Building Award (Bundespreis Umwelt und Bauen), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency honored sustainable and innovative construction projects on September 29. The new building for the RAG Foundation on the Zollverein world cultural heritage site, in the German city of Essen, was recognized in the Special Award category.

Laying of the Foundation Stone for the New Building for Nuclear Medicine, Radiopharmacy and a Research Floor at Essen University Hospital
On August 31, 2020, the foundation stone for the building was lowered into the ten meter deep excavation pit with a crane and hook. This completed another important step in one of the most complex construction projects at Essen University Hospital. A carefully selected group made up of the State Minister of Culture and Science of North Rhine Westphalia, the Board of Directors of the Essen University Hospital, the Chancellor of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), the Mayor and the site foreman were present to celebrate the completion of this symbolic stage of the project.
