Ceiling-to-floor windows, views of lush meadows, and proximity to the city: Over 40 years old, the Atlantis Hotel on the western edge of Zurich is once again receiving guests following extensive renovation. Built at the end of the 1960s, the hotel building has retained all of its charm. The interior design of the five-star hotel – with black-and-white images of the original hotel, padded walls and 1970s furniture – continues to evoke its proud history. In addition to numerous rooms and suites, the mountain hotel – parts of which are heritage-protected – also features a ballroom and several function rooms. Following completion of its renovation, the 1,500 square meter spa area will offer guests additional recreation facilities.

Drees & Sommer supported Neue Hotel Atlantis AG with this project in 2015. Over the past months, the experts provided support in the areas of commissioning, organization and execution of integral tests and official approvals, training the operator’s staff in the use of technical equipment, building documentation, and defect management, thus playing a substantial role in ensuring the reopening occurred on schedule.
