2015 Balance Sheet: Drees & Sommer achieves 24 percent increase

Drees & Sommer sales and operating profit rose again significantly last year: Group sales for 2015 were up € 58.7 million to € 300.7 million (prior year: € 242 million). Operating profit rose € 10.9 million to € 37.1 million (prior year: € 26.2 million). The number of employees increased from 2,000 to 2,150 at 40 national, regional and representative offices worldwide.

With sales growth of 24 percent, Drees & Sommer achieved its business objectives. This very positive development is due to the systematic implementation of the group’s corporate strategy. “We have focused on Building Information Modeling (BIM) during the planning phase, on lean management during construction, and on customer-oriented service components, together with our high level of expertise in project management, engineering and consulting. That has paid off,” says Peter Tzeschlock, Chairman of the Executive Board of the international consulting group.

An important engine for growth last business year was the successful completion of several mergers both in Germany and abroad. Prime examples are the engineering company
Thurm & Dinges (Germany and Switzerland), acquired in 2014, and RBS – Projektmanagement GmbH – Unternehmensberatung, whose 80 employees in the area of workplace consulting joined Drees & Sommer on May 1, 2015.

The prospects for growth are positive for the coming financial year, too. The company continues to focus on digitization of planning, construction, and business processes to simplify construction for clients and to cut costs. In addition to further expansion of its industry expertise, Drees & Sommer still sees good opportunities for growth in urban development and in General Construction Management (GCM).
