On June 22, 2016, pharmaceutical manufacturer Caesar & Loretz GmbH (Caelo) opened a new production building at its corporate headquarters in Hilden. After a construction period of roughly one year, the company now has an additional 2,400 square meters of production space, a new three-storey administrative building, and a modern warehouse. Drees & Sommer has been supporting the construction project with consulting and review services since the end of 2013, and organized project execution with the aid of 3C Management.
Increasingly stringent GMP requirements and the need to expand capacity were the key reasons behind the decision for the extensive new building. It also allows the company – with its proud tradition – to stay on the forefront of production technology and workplace conditions. The production areas are flexibly designed, allowing cost-effective increases in production capacity in the future. Furthermore, a modern energy concept ensures low operating costs and a pleasant indoor environment. The new facilities also include a temperature-controlled warehouse.
After a detailed review of the planning and project status, Drees & Sommer restructured the project with the support of qualification specialist Gempex. 3C Management – an execution method specifically tailored to pharmaceutical industry projects – allowed early coordination of building & process planning and qualification measures. This approach ensured that the construction process was highly efficient and that the project met quality standards within cost and schedule constraints.
