The German city of Essen holds the title of European Green Capital 2017.
Drees & Sommer is supporting the project.
A number of events and citizens' projects will take place during Essen’s year as European Green Capital 2017. They include a conference on sustainable architecture undergoing (climate) change and responsible building on 11 and 12 July, entitled: Nachhaltige Architektur im (Klima-) Wandel. Bauen mit Verantwortung[MC1] ! It is intended to stimulate the debate on sustainable and climate-compatible construction by exploring the common ground between architecture and civil engineering, as well as addressing quality assurance issues. Excursions to some examples of projects and a tour of Essen round off the programme. On the panel of the conference, Drees & Sommer together with Professor Dr Hans-Peter Noll present the pioneering project run by the foundation RAG-Stiftung: the new development of the Zollverein coal mine. On 12 July, Frank Kamping participates in a discussion on innovative planning, optimisation of resources and measures with sustainable impact under the title: Innovative Planung und Ressourcenoptimierung – Welche Maßnahmen wirken nachhaltig?.
