Meetup in Berlin – enthusiasm for innovative ideas covering all aspects of PropTech and ConstructionTech
On November 12, 2019, a meetup with the theme ‘Planning, Building and Managing – a digital look into the future’ took place in the Berlin Drees & Sommer office.
Guests at the meeting – organized jointly with the ‘Digital meets Real Estate’ initiative – included 150 innovation fans, many from the innovation, PropTech and Construction Tech community, as well as Drees & Sommer Partners and clients, other startups, and innovation drivers.
Prof. Heinrich Arnold’s fascinating keynote on Europe’s path to digitization gave participants a cross-industry view of the success factors for digitization and future technologies. This was followed by four entrepreneurs from Corrux, Building Minds, reInvent and fairfleet presenting their startups specializing in planning, construction, management and inspection. reInvent is one of the startups with which Drees & Sommer is working as part of its Accelerator Program. A further highlight of the evening was the presentation of the PropTech Influencer Award to Larissa Lapschies by the ‘Digital meets Real Estate’ initiative and Berlin Partner.
Markus Weigold, a Drees & Sommer Partner and one of the hosts on the evening, summed up the intent of the event and the value of the company’s cooperation with startups as follows: “For us, it’s extremely important to maintain a constant exchange with startups and innovation drivers in order to build and maintain sustainable ecosystems, jointly develop new business models and services, and apply innovative approaches to projects.” He added that the company also wanted to understand startups’ needs and the challenges they encounter in their real estate projects, in order to position itself to act as a competent consultant to this growing target group.
