After Saudi Arabia comes Dortmund: Last night Drees & Sommer opened its third branch in North Rhine-Westphalia and its 38th site worldwide. “We are particularly proud to be active in such an innovative and promising region. We see great potential here!” say Stefan Heselschwerdt, Managing Director of Drees & Sommer in North Rhine-Westphalia and Partner of the Drees & Sommer group and the new branch manager Nadin Bozorgzadeh.
“We are already involved in 12 projects in the Eastern Ruhr and in Westphalia – including the flagship PHOENIX project in Dortmund”, said Bozorgzadeh at yesterday's office opening ceremony in the Harenberg City-Center in Dortmund. “We are particularly pleased to now be even closer to our customers and to take advantage of the growth opportunities on our doorstep.” Drees & Sommer has special expertise in educational institutions: From Dortmund, Nadin Bozorgzadeh and her five-member team are supporting seven projects support involving the construction or renovation of universities, colleges or schools. “Our expertise is in demand in the densest university landscape in Europe,” said the Branch Manager enthusiastically.
The guest speaker for the evening, Hilmar von Lojewski, is well acquainted with both Drees & Sommer and the new office location: He studied in Dortmund and became acquainted with Drees & Sommer during successful consultation on the Breitscheidplatz tunnel closure in Berlin. Diversity, inclusion and sustainability are important attributes for the city of the future for the Councilor for Urban Development, Construction, Housing and Transport of the German Städtetag (Association of Cities) in Berlin and NRW Städtetag. In Hilmar von Lojewski's view, sustainable urban and housing policy, in particular, require the knowledge and expertise of neutral project controllers.
Drees & Sommer maintains 17 offices throughout Germany. In North Rhine-Westphalia, a total of 110 people are employed at the offices in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Dortmund. Current projects include the development of a site energy concept for the TÜV Rheinland (Technical Inspection Association) in Cologne and project management of the new Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences building. The consulting and project management company opened a new office in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh in November 2013.
