In recent years, the Austrian Parliament in Vienna has undergone renovation works. At Drees & Sommer Austria, we have also been involved in this process by way of Lean Construction Management.

The LEAN team together with Armen Hanusic were allowed to take over the lean construction management in a joint venture with DELTA, the overall service provider for construction in Sector 5. An overall process analysis and the process planning were developed together.

The renovation of the Parliament was divided into 9 sectors, where about 7 restorers and about 80 companies were involved in the execution phase.

A “lean room” was set up on the construction site, where board planning was implemented on a daily basis, which made the complex project handling more transparent for everyone involved. This also ensured continuous and personal interaction between the construction site personnel and construction supervision.
