Drees & Sommer’s work began in 2019 with the Global Workplace Concept. Currently, our work consists in rolling out and implementing the concept. Our main rollout projects in 2019–2022 were in HQ Espoo, R&D Campus Oulu, Istanbul, Athens, Riyadh and Paris.

Nokia co-created with Drees & Sommer Netherlands’ UX design team the future, “next generation” workplace for Nokia’s 90,000 employees. Workplace design principles and attributes provide a globally aligned, positive employee experience. The workplace concept consists of user-oriented work environments that support co-creation, enhance a sense of belonging and promote employee well-being. The diverse work environments support co-creation, a sense of belonging and well-being. The workplaces feature technology that seamlessly adapts to the employee’s preferred workstation. Nokia’s working culture is inclusive and promotes inclusiveness and diversity.

For the Paris headquarters, implementing the strategy resulted in a more dynamic, highly flexible way of working, in which users can choose from a wide variety of environments and settings: collaboration spaces, R&D labs or concentration areas. Throughout the project, the emphasis was on economic efficiency, sustainability and user-friendly technology: spaces are adaptable, furniture is reused and smart technical equipment allows people to work anywhere.
