HiSolutions AG, a company of expert IT consultants in Berlin, now occupies a brand-new headquarters, designed specifically for longevity and sustainability. The almost 5,000 square metre space has been planned with flexibility in mind, to accommodate potential staff increases and change. By refurbishing an existing space, resources have been spared. And the company’s philosophy can be felt in every inch of the various space types that have been designed to promote diversity, teamworking and creativity, and to enable visionary thinking, actions and ways of working. 

Conversion means sustainability. A good reason for HiSolutions AG to select Forum Steglitz as its new location. This former shopping centre, erected back in the 70s, has undergone a complete rejuvenation by attracting well-known grocery stores, retailers and a large, commercial gym. HiSolutions plays its part, profiting from the location’s ideal public transport connections, the complex’s own, low-cost carpark, and by using and supporting neighbourly synergies, all of which are revitalising the locality. 

The most important contributors to the company’s success are the employees, each with their individual skills but also needs, and they were the main focus in the design of the new workplace. In the new office they are free to choose whichever space suits them according to the task and their working style. The atmosphere in each space makes its use intuitive: quiet zones are for concentration – like the library, or for relaxation – such as the conservatory; and lively social spaces are for coming together – the cafeteria, the table football room and the bar. 

The variety of workplace typologies reflects the company’s core values. State-of-the-art equipment, the high-quality fitout and sophisticated biophilic design provide an excellent spatial experience. Gaming rooms and a sports bar are centrally situated for all employees to see, encouraging team spirit even outside of working hours.
